Special Classroom Events

On April 12th, The Pacific Science Center Visited Hilton Elementary.  Our theme for the day was technology.  We had fun experimenting and programming robots.

On April 19th we had a visitor from the United States Department of Agriculture.  She shared information about walking sticks and other insects. We enjoyed making a hand bridge and letting the walking sticks walk on us.

As part of our insect unit, we watched four caterpillars grow from the larva stage into beautiful butterflies.  On May 3rd we released them.

On May 4th, Mr. Bill Smedley and his black lab, Decade, visited our room.
Bill is a very talented, visually impaired artist.  He taught us how to weave
a basket.  We were amazed with our final products.  They were beautiful!
We enjoyed working with Mr. Smedley.
