The first round of invitations for Ram Relays XVI (52nd West Valley Invitational) have been emailed to coaches - we currently have 14 teams and at least 1 team ready to take an opening.  More information will be coming as the date draws near.  I have left the results from last year below, I believe the records are now accurate.

MEET INFORMATION

Scoring--Six places in all events will be awarded, scoring 10-8-6-4-2-1.  The Coed Relays (4x800, 4x300,  & Chuck Millard) will divide the points between the girls and the boys team.  Ribbons for all place winners and trophies for the top two teams, both girls and boys, will be given at the conclusion of the meet.

Entry Limits--One entry per team in the 300 hurdles (we will fill any open lanes with the fastest alternate hurdlers available).   Two entries per team in the distance races (1600 & 3200) and in the pole vault---if you have a third athlete who can be competitive for a place, you may enter him/her.  All other events are run as relays:  three-person for field events and four-person for running events.

Field Events--All except for the pole vault are scored as three (or fewer) person relays.
Shot Put, Discus, Javelin:
 Throwers will compete in a four flight rotation.  The flights are open pit.  Each athlete is   allowed three throws.   There will be no finals.
Long Jump and Triple Jump:
 Boys use the west pit; girls use the east pit.  There will be four open pit flights.  Each   athlete is allowed three jumps.  There will be no finals.
High Jump and Pole Vault:
 Elimination occurs with 3 misses at any height.  The girls high jump will begin at    4'2", progress 2" to 5'0", then 1".  Boys high jump  will begin at 5'4", progress 2" to   6'0", then 1".  Boys pole vault will begin at 9'0", progress 6" to 13'0", then 3".  Girls   pole vault will follow, starting at 6'0", progress 6" to 8'0", then 3".

Equipment--Blocks will be provided.  No longer than three-sixteenths inch spikes are permitted on all the surfaces.  Lanes are drawn randomly before the meet.

Relays--Both boys and girls weight relays (4x100) are only for discus, shot put, and javelin participants who are not in a running event.  The order for the Millard Coed Medley Relay is as follows:  (1) girl-200, (2) boy-400, (3) girl-600, (4) boy-1200.  The 4x300 coed relay uses the same order, while the 4x800 coed may use any order as long as legs alternate by sex.
